The Counseling Space
The Counselling Space consists of professional psychologists who are also trained empathic listeners Counselling is the provision of professional assistance and guidance in resolving personal or psychological problems. It's important to understand that it is a supplementary help. The problems or distress you suffer cannot be taken away by the therapist or any other professional. Different people use counseling/therapy for different reasons. Some may use it to prevent any mental health issues while others may use it to address the underlying cause of mental health conditions. For those trying to heal from past pain and trauma, its important to understand that healing and outgrowing certain maladaptive thoughts and emotions takes active efforts. Research shows that most people who receive psychotherapy experience symptom relief and are better able to function in their lives. About 75 percent of people who enter psychotherapy show some benefit from it, however, the client’s willingness and efforts become the major determinants of the efficiency of the counseling process.
How do I choose my therapist?
Different therapists come from different backgrounds of life experiences, learning styles, therapy specialization, and communication styles. It's important to find a therapist who matches your comfort level.
Trust your instinct- See how you feel when you speak to the therapist either before you take an appointment or after your first one. Are they easy to talk to? How did you feel before/during/after you spoke to/emailed them? Did you feel judged? This decision is mostly based on your intention.
Ask questions- Ask questions about their degree, specialization, years of experience, and if they are comfortable working with you on the said concern
Run a background check - Check their Linkedin profile, find them on their organization’s page and get to know them a little better.
Lastly, take feedback from people who have taken therapy from them- You may find that friends, colleagues, and healthcare professionals are a good source of referrals. You may also find options by using search tools provided by organisations that address your specific concerns.
When you’ve narrowed down your choices, you may find it helpful to think about your goals and questions. This way you can be sure you and your therapist are well matched and aligned on your treatment plan.
Through the counseling space, we are allowing the user to experience a sense of freedom from the judgement, labels and stigma attached to certain life altering experiences, sexuality, expression of distressful mindset/emotions. We strive to build a safe, confidential and caring space for our clients to explore their worries and concerns. This space will offer a collaborative experience where both the client and counselor decide on the goals of the counseling process together. Self-determination will be maintained as one of the highest priorities along with respect and care towards the individual as well as the process.
What are the costs involved
The first session is free for every new user! For future bookings, we have provided a sliding scale starting at only INR 249 for every 45 minute session. We recommend that you take a screenshot of any payments made in case there is ever an error in payment transaction.
